The chairs of nine companies, including Britain’s AstraZeneca, GSK and Denmark’s Novo Nordisk, wrote to Andy Burnham and the national leaders of other European countries on Tuesday to call for action to “safeguard our companies’ future”.

Ok, so the states should throw some money on the huge pile of profits so that the shareholders can grab a little more.

Can’t they just drop some SMS’s to Ursula asking for money? Surely nobody will ever read those.

I work in one. We are expecting massive layoffs in Europe. They are moving everything in the US (R&D, Production) or in India (Services). Multiple reasons, very complex, maybe impossible to find a solution with the status of the world today.

    4. The US wants the same prices as the EU for medicines. So a lot of these companies are choosing to leave the EU altogether. Like, wtf can the EU do, exactly? Give them more money?

Europe was so unbelievably stupid to increase energy costs just to be “green”, while the whole world is ignoring sustainability.

Being sustainable is not the moat people have promised. Cost is moat and being green is too expensive for the European industries. Really 5d chess to kill off the economy just to jerk off to progressive ideologies.

Someday in the future we can pat ourselves on the back for reducing our emissions, but that downturn will largely come from having no relevant economy anymore. Being poor for the climate. But we will still breath in the Chinese / Indian / American air. Great stuff, guys.

    6. We should unify our processes in the eu to more efficient single market. Also for inter country trade in eu in general. Its why the eu single market is so much weaker than the us single market

So much for capitalism with these pharma companies calling on the governments to hand over cash, especially considering that some of them make outright dangerous drugs.

My mind went other places when reading the title, I was starting to wonder if cartels wanted to start unions

    9. I mainly have problems due to the war in Ukraine. Apparently was/is ukraine a producing hub. For years now the apothecary’s sneak in my medication with fake stickers and whatnot. They would be ofcourse totally open to an Chinese/Indian pharmacy filling in this role. They keep not doing that because of morals and believing the war will end any moment now…

    10. I’ll say it with every chance I have. Europe’s energy and tax laws are killing the industry on this continent.
