Okay context time, doc has flagged my cholesterol level is no bueno and need to come back on fatty foods in general (fatty meats/milks, pastries, and chocolates).
I've cut all of that from my daily diet EXCEPT for one cheat dessert treat each month.
Just so happens this month, my Bertha cake order arrived. Why yes I indeed argue this is technically one slice of cake, my wife argues the size is equivalent of 3. Look. Her math adds up BUT it's delicious, so there's that – moving on.
Anywho, it's October soon and I am in search of worthy chocolate cake contenders.
I'm not a snob, I'd eat the Coles one in a plastic container but it has to be worth the cholesterol setback. I've also driven an hour for a vanilla slice, it was indeed worth it.
Show me what you got. Pics for bonus points.

this is the only thing i’ve seen on my social media for days, this company’s PR advertising department is truely wasting no dollars
Looks amazing, cost?
Go to a local cafe or bakery and check out what they’ve got. Might open a dangerous door for you, but you’ll definitely find something no one here could recommend.
Aviv Chocolate Babka, Elsternwick.
The Inception 70% Chocolate Cake from Mietta by Rosemary is absolutely heavenly. Thick but in a good way, perfect level of sweetness & bitterness from the dark chocolate. Just perfection🤌🏻
Their Guinness cake was good too, but prefer their chocolate cake.
Mork twice baked chocolate cake. Unfortunately the whole cake price has gone up from $58 to $75! But you can buy it by the slice for $10ea (previously $8ea)
