    1. Isn’t that true though? Sure the powers that be at the time was mainly ROC and not PRC, but regardless US helping China against Japan means they were allies

I mean… The US and China were allied against Japan in WW2.

For once the dotard is right. I don‘t see what needs clarifying.

    3. Didn’t American bombers fly to Japan, drop their bombs and crash land over non occupied China since they didn’t have enough fuel to make it back to US territory and the Chinese army helped them (Chang Kai Chek’s people not Mao’s)?

I’m pretty sure this was the plot to several movies.

    4. Japan wants clarity.

“China was an ally. Japan was the enemy. American forces fought alongside Chinese forces against the Japanese”

    5. Their confusion speaks to the very poor job the Japanese educational system have done to teach their people about the reality of World War 2.

The Japanese massacred 100000 to 200000 civilians and prisoners of war in nanjing in China over a period of a few months.it literally took 2 usa nuclear weapons to eventually end imperial japans mass war carnage throughout Asia. Is it suggested that people outside of japan don’t understand what he is talking about?

    7. Many Chinese people know about the Flying Tigers, but most Americans have never heard of them. They were an American Air Force squadron operating within China, formed to defend China and bomb Japan during World War II in order to oppose Japan’s invasion of China. They shot down almost 300 Japanese planes in the air while only losing 14 pilots over the course of their operational period.

    8. I’m sure it was entirely by accident but Trump actually got a basic historical fact right for once.

    9. Hmm what is the confusion? The Chinese Communist Party was technically under the command of the Republic of China and draw ROC’s salary. The US and China (ROC+CCP combined entity) were working together against the Japanese from 1941-1945.

    10. Well, Japan was the adversary that invaded China and US supported China during WW II so what is Takaichi’s “confusion” here?

    11. I dont think Japan is confused about the history. They know the US and China fought on the same side against Japan.

The awkward part is hearing that language used now, when Japan is one of America’s closest allies and relations with China are already tense.

    12. All I know is that most of Japanese now believes Japan in WW2 was a victim.
Considering its PM’s higest approval in Japan and remaining oppositions in the Diet, isolation from the world itself is the desire of many Japanese.

“They were kind enough to allow us to put our nuclear weapons through human trials in a couple of their cities.”
