      We vacation in Miami a lot in the winters, we definitely saw *tons* of Hispanic Trump supporters

      Not really surprising, most Hispanics are Catholic and conservative. Only reason their support for Trump dropped again is because he’s made being a Hispanic Trump supporter like being a goat supporting mountain lions.

      If you include counties where Latinos are the largest ethnic/racial group but not an outright majority, you would see very very different results. That would bring in LA County, Queens, Harris County, and Dallas County, all of which are very large and very Democrat-leaning, to the point that the Democratic votes cast in LA and Harris County alone would outweigh the 3.01 million Trump received from majority-Latino counties.

      Hispanics are hard working, deeply religious and probably the only group having children.

      If you think once they got citizenship they wouldn’t be conservatives you miscalculated

      If I understand what this map is saying, though, it’s how the county voted but not necessarily how the Hispanic population voted. So in theory, if a county were 51% Hispanic and 49% non-Hispanic, and all of the non-Hispanic people and 20% of the Hispanic people voted Republican, the county would be red on the map.

      I live in one of the red counties on this map, and while there are plenty of Hispanic conservatives here there are also plenty of people who aren’t Hispanic and also vote, contributing to the totals here.

      Please correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s how I read the assertion on this map. It doesn’t really state how the majority *of the Hispanic population* voted.

      In Texas the gerrymandering (redistricting) used 2024 voting numbers expecting the Hispanic vote to keep voting republican. Now the GOP in Texas is freaking out because for some reason they lost the hispanic vote…. weird

      I remember after the elections, people posted where Hispanic people could call ice to deport Republican family members or Hispanics who voted for Trump. Yeah…..

      The Trump campaign ran Spanish anti-communist ads in Spanish speaking areas, it was quite effective

      Progressives hate to admit it but basically all ethnic minority immigrant communities come from a background/culture that’s overwhelmingly conservative and traditional, even more so than the most conservative white American.

      Latin Americans are heavily Catholic and machismo.

      Middle Easterners are extremely religious and rigid in their practices and beliefs.

      East Asians, although not religious and the least socially conservative, are very entrepreneurial, hierarchal, and practice filial piety.

      The only thing that’s holding them all from voting right-wing/Republican is the extreme xenophobia, nativism, and cultural chauvinism of white Christian culture that American right-wingers promote. Ironically a lot of them also want to reject their own native culture and be more white adjacent (this is for white appearing Latinos and some East Asians who intermarry with white Americans.

      Reddit likes to jerk itself thinking they know why Hispanics voted for trump, they’re racist, misogynists, very religious, they hate other immigrants, etc.

      As a Hispanic who lives amongst them I can tell you 90% of the reason my Hispanic friends voted for Trump was purely economic. My friends saw how much expensive everything was becoming so they voted against the former vice president who said she’s basically run the country the same way Biden did.

      That’s the reason you don’t need to speculate, Hispanics will swing massively back to democrat again because everything is becoming more expensive under Trump not because of any social issues.

      This is why Black people reacted the way they did: first immediately after the election and then in February through September 2025. And if you don’t remember, watch the YouTube videos.
      Needless to say, they learnt the hardest what Black people hoped they’d learn the easy way.

      Hispanics are conservative economically and socially. This should not be a surprise to you unless you’re from LA or NY. Just because Democrats like Hispanic immigrants doesn’t mean they fit Hispanic interests.

      Not too surprising. Lain Americans tend to skew more conservative. If the Republican Party would drop the their hard line, deport them all rhetoric, they could lock down a majority for the foreseeable future.

      I see people reading this as some kind of evidence of ideology (possibly because that’s how they and their friends vote), but you could just as easily see it as evidence that Hispanic voters were on average hurt more by post-pandemic inflation than others were.
