Also notable was they held Claremont in Blackpool, which as an area in a deprived sea-side town is exactly the sort of area Reform do best in.
It doesn’t bode well for Reform on a national level if they can’t take these sort of wards.

>>In Hirst, the seat was vacated after Reform UK incumbent John Allen failed to turn up to any meetings for six months
>>Allen had stood again in the seat as an independent. He won just 11 votes.
Shameless… And, I realise it’s only 10 other people, assuming he voted for himself, but it’s crazy that he didn’t bother with the job but people still voted for him again.

Good. People are waking up to Farage’s anti abortion, anti worker rights pro crypto billionaire policies.

Love the optimism.
Let’s have a budget or two, very little change and then see where the votes go.
Promises of tomorrow brightness start to dull quickly when tomorrow doesn’t look any brighter. The tories managed this by replacing their leader regularly allowing a fresh promise of tomorrow and calling early elections to have a new mandate.
Burnham is choosing not to risk an election, knowing there will be a huge seat loss even if he wins overall.
So old mandate will lead to little change over the next 3 years and only negatively impacting budgets.

Farage isnt serious and looks like a kitten compared to someone like Lowe. If someone is polotically that way inclined then Lowe would be a more appealing option.

There’s something satisfying about the extreme right living through the same sort of ideological, lack of compromise vote split that the left for so long has suffered.
And equally that Restore are genuinely beginning to make inroads electorally.

Reform still got 30% of the vote in a seat where their councillor hadn’t turned up to any meetings for six months.

Farage is the Manchester City of politics – dodgy until the very end.
