Data source: U.S. Census Bureau, [2020 Tiger/Line Shapefiles](https://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/geo/shapefiles/index.php)
Tools used: Python code written with assistance by Claude Code (Sonnet 5). Primary libraries used: GeoPandas, Shapely, pyproj, pandas, Matplotlib.
2020 was used rather than more recent data because the analysis was done on the census block level, only available from decennial censuses.
Why is Pike County, PA part of the NYC MSA area but Orange County, NY isn’t?
Pike, but not even a piece of Connecticut until the later slides?

I never understood why pike county but not warren county
Idk what the second slide means by unincorporated. NJ has no unincorporated land everything belongs to a town

This is super cool. Did you make this or are similar available for other metros? Would love for an SF Bay Area one I find the CSA/MSA definitions for that are always stupid
