Remember KuiQ? Probably not. Nobody asked for another update, but here it is.
KuiQ is a small startup we’re building to make it easier to find and contact local professionals in Cyprus without digging through Facebook groups or relying entirely on word of mouth.
Since our last post, we’ve had over 1,000 users visit the website. We’re seeing more clicks to call professionals, fewer people leaving immediately, and longer sessions — sometimes 2–3 minutes among users in Cyprus.
We’re also starting to see some organic traffic on both the website and social media. It’s still small, but encouraging.
We now have 50+ registered users, around 40 active. We’ve been testing Meta Ads, fixing bugs, and improving the platform. We’ve also improved the professional profile cards to make browsing and comparing professionals easier.
Some ads performed well; others basically burned money.
Analytics has become one of our biggest challenges.
We deliberately let clients browse professionals and contact them directly without creating an account. We want to keep it that way.
The trade-off is that it’s harder to know what happens after someone clicks to call. Did they actually speak to the professional? Did they hire them? We can track some actions, but not the whole journey.
Another issue we’ve noticed is profile photos. Many professionals don’t have a profile picture, which can make profiles feel less personal and potentially less trustworthy. We’re still figuring out how to encourage professionals to add photos without making onboarding more complicated.
So, how does KuiQ work?
- Clients: Browse professionals and contact them directly for free, without an account.
- Specific requests: Clients pay €3 to submit a request. An account is required, and only professionals can see the request. It stays visible for 5 days so relevant professionals can contact the client.
- Professionals: Pay €7 for 30 days of visibility. If they don’t pay, they don’t appear on the platform. There’s no automatic renewal — we want to avoid unexpected recurring charges, something we’ve experienced ourselves.
We initially offered free lifetime access to early professionals, but those offers have now ended.
We’re still trying to prove the business model and figure out how to grow both sides of the marketplace without spending endlessly on ads.
I’d genuinely appreciate some advice, especially from people living in Cyprus:
- How would you market KuiQ locally without burning money on ads?
- How would you convince professionals to pay for visibility instead of relying on Facebook groups or word of mouth?
- How would you encourage professionals to add profile photos?
- Does the pricing and business model make sense?
- Would you pay €3 to submit a request and have relevant professionals contact you?
We’re building this from scratch, learning as we go, and have no idea yet where it’ll lead. Honest criticism and practical suggestions are very welcome.

PS: Here is the previous update we posted here.
6 months ago, we announced a Cyprus startup called KuiQ (link: kuiq.site). 2 months ago, we gave an update. Here’s another one.

Bro , you really need to fix the user interface , we are in 2026 use claude skill for design ,google stich(free) or something … why somebody will put money if the user interface is like this
Getting more professionals to add profile photos could be as simple as sending a friendly reminder about how clients are more likely to trust faces they can see. For understanding user journeys without forcing accounts, a tool like ParseStream could help you spot discussions about your service on social platforms so you get a sense of real outcomes and feedback.
I scrolled a bit through your site on mobile; not sure if its much better on desktop, but from mobile I have the impression that it’s a proof of concept site and not the live production one. The UI is not great. Also purchase a .com domain. The one you chose does not build trust. Same idea with the contact email. Don’t use a Gmail address. Use the domain you purchase. I could probably nitpick a lot more but on mobile its difficult.
Who is building this and who do you employee?
I would pay €3 for middleman services without second thought provided that I get what I want. For which I in doubt, because you restrict the pool of professionals, which are in doubt that they get a pool of clients because you restrict pool of clients which are in doubt… For me it’s like a death spiral.
Basically, I pay €3 for a promise that trust-be-bro-we-have-pro-here and I kinda don’t believe you.

If you want to hire a UI UX designer, you can dm me
In most portals its professionals that get to respond to tender with their offer pay the commission. This from business perspective attracts potential customers which in return attracts professionals to be there to grab customers ….
I personally would not pay a dime for a promise “of getting in contact with someone trustworthy” ( from a client perspective)
i clicked on explore our professionals and its not fetching any results. the cursor just goes round indefinitely. is there anything wrong with the search function or the db?
IDK this is an idea you probably could validate and find PMF before you launch a site, which need tons of work btw (performance, ui, etc)
Then your set of problems would be simpler (ads, revenue etc)
Have you actually spoken to these professionals and created an archetype to understand them? And the market?
You need to have the answers to your own questions before launching a site, advertising etc and you can answer these with a low budget
You can’t get away from having to lose $$ on this for a while until you get traction
Your business model needs subscription, you need stickiness and you can get money so you can actually improve the site; eg if I was a contractor and I signed up for a month but got nothing, I probably wont renew
Start figuring out your CAC, how to find PMF without burning more money than necessary, establish runway and actually understand your customers (on both sides of your marketplace)
I would never sign in just to see what the site is offering.. you need to hook first before demanding registration..
