Got an ad for this lot on my instagram. I must have triggered the algorithm by using the word ‘honk’ in my search terms too often. These lads all seem to be about 17, are touring Ireland on a anti-abortion jolly.

Invasion of the god botherers 2026 rerelease.

What were they protesting in Ballsbridge, or is it a tour of Dublin with their abortion schtick?

    2. Ireland needs Fatima? Isn’t that in Portugal? Maybe they’re right, we could do with some territorial expansion, be nice to have an Irish enclave in a sunny spot.

These fellas don’t need to be worrying about abortion, no woman is going to have sex with them anyway.

    4. I think I’ve seen this bolloxes before.

It’s one of those Christian brotherhood type of things.

All men, all bigots, they hand out booklets about how they want stuff like CSPE and SPHE to be removed from school, don’t teach kids about sex or politics basically, because they might end up transgender or gay or something.

Then they block roads and march like they’re something important.

Now I could be mistaking one hate group for another.

Saw them in Trim, Co Meath

    5. A lad who was in my class in school (and memorably was a bigot from the tender age of 11, but our catholic grammar adored him because he was great at rugby) has been making the news headlines recently for attacking homeless people and garda. Got kicked out of his barrister training and seems to be really off the rails mentally; at least, enough to allow the ‘outstanding member of society’ rugger bugger mask to slip.

Anyway he was one of these eejits. Also attempted to establish a Trinity branch of an American fraternity. Really says it all.

      Edit: garda, not gardening.

If those boys don’t want abortions, they don’t have to have them. This is Ireland, not the US. Our women have reproductive rights.

Are they an American crowd? I think I remember someone posting about them in Cork City. The silly capes look familiar.

    8. Wtf is with the red sashes? It’s a bold fashion choice for people who won’t be attracting a lot of women regardless what they wear

    9. ItsLikeHerdingTwats on

On a related topic, we should deport all ev(il)angelical yanks and block any funding entering the country.

    10. Are these the Americans who come over to Ireland, marching around with bagpipes? The neck of them coming over here to lecture us about abortion when their own country just recently bombed a school in Iran, killing 120 little girls.

    11. Why do they always look that way? Weird clean cut young men in shiny shoes with Lego haircuts.

    12. Unless you are carrying the baby. You have no say. You cannot force someone to give birth just because you say so. Once the child is born. Are they raising it? No.. so shut up.

It taken years for women in Ireland to get the most basic of human rights. We’ve had women die because of archic laws and these eejits want to go back to that? Get lost.

If you zoom into the bottom of the placard, you’ll find a URL – I’ve just Googled it, and they’re not Septics, they’re Irish.

[ISFCC](https://www.isfcc.org) – Irish Society for Christian Civilisation, from its ‘[Who are we?](https://www.isfcc.org/about/)’ page:

      >*Irish Society for Christian Civilisation* is an organisation of lay Catholic Irishmen and Irishwomen concerned with the moral crisis shaking the remnants of Christendom. Our foundation in 2004 was inspired by the work of Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira, founder of the Brazilian Society for the Defence of Tradition, Family & Property. Today, with its members, volunteers and donors, we are on the front lines of the Culture War, peacefully defending the values of Tradition, Family and Property.

As they’re Catholic, I’m not sure they’ll be being bankrolled by MAGA Christo-fascists, because I don’t think MAGA recognises the Catholic Church.

Then there’s this [How I came to accept and love suffering](https://www.isfcc.org/how-i-came-to-accept-and-love-suffering-2/) – and I’ll just draw your attention to this paragraph:

      >I came to appreciate the value of suffering even more by observing the people in our household. My home was one of those old houses with lots of servants. In those days, it was easy to have many servants because society was not highly industrialised.

      >There were many maids, including those who suffered much and often. For example, we had two maids who were cousins, one a cook and the other a laundress. They had very upright bearings and the faces of people who had overcome all life’s vicissitudes.

      >The cook’s name was Florence, and her cousin, the laundress, was Magdalena.

      >Magdalena was full of aches and pains. She had rheumatism in her hands. Despite these problems, all she wanted to do was wash clothes. She was always very ill. I would often see her talking with my mother, Dona Lucília. Needless to say, Dona Lucília felt sorry for her and helped her in any way she could.

      >I noticed that Magdalena prayed a lot and was pious. She passed by us respectfully like a shadow along the wall. She wore a spotless white cloth on her head, like a headdress I’d never seen anyone use.

They also run ‘Call to Chivalry’ summer camps (“where boys become Catholic heroes”) where boys can pretend to be mediaeval crusaders, this is of course, completely glossing over the fact that the crusades were largely unsuccessful.

I’ve no idea who’s bankrolling them, but I’m 99% certain it’s not going to be Americans – oh, I’ve just found [the grift page](https://www.isfcc.org/alliance-with-mary/)!

For an organisation which is dedicated to Mary, it does seem to be extremely male-oriented, [its ‘right to life’ campaigns are men only](https://www.isfcc.org/large-group-of-young-catholics-campaign-throughout-ireland-defending-the-right-to-life-and-promoting-fatima/)

Some people are wondering why they’re wearing red – the simple answer is that there really isn’t a more Christian colour, red represents blood, it’s why cardinals wear red, I’m guessing it’s supposed to represent the blood of Christ.

Anyway, enough of this bollocks, I spent 15 years at a convent school run by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, a sadistic Irish teaching order, where I was abused, particularly in the prep school, so you can rather imagine my views on the Catholic Church (I was also SA by the curate at my parents local church, too, so I’m not keen on the CoE, either).

I’m a humanist, your beliefs are your beliefs, you’re free to believe whatever shite you like, it’s when you start indoctrinating and brainwashing people – particularly kids – with it that I then have a problem.

If you don’t want to have an abortion – don’t have one
If you don’t want to go and see a musical or an opera then don’t go and see it ([they’re also protesting against Colm Tóibín’s Testament’s run at the Gaiety Theatre](https://www.isfcc.org/irish-society-for-christian-civilisation-launches-campaign-against-blasphemous-opera-testament/))

I was also going to say “if you don’t want to be gay or trans…” but that’s physiologically impossible, I wonder how many of their younger members are struggling with their sexuality and/or their gender…? That said, it being a predominantly male-only organisation does seem rather, well, gay. Makes me wonder if some of the more senior members might have urges that they’re struggling to keep repressed, I’m sure Catholic noncery hasn’t gone away, they’re just more…clandestine…about it.

And I’ve written an essay again.

But that’s who they are – the Catholic equivalent of the OO (sort of) – and they can get all the way to fuck.

Does it count as a signature if I write “fuck off you hateful cunts” on their petition?
