Every translation service I use has given me a different result and it is driving me crazy.

The text is: ნუ მიეყრდნობით

I know the beginning is some variant of “don’t” or “do not,” but the end seems to be impossible to get a consistent translation. If someone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

  1. It’s “don’t lean” [on a moving train’s door, where it’s written usually].

  2. Suspicious_Cowboyyy on

მეტროში ეგ არ არის ნამყოფი და რა გიკვირთ:))

  3. -_______--_________- on

As people have stated “ნუ მიეყრდნობით” means “don’t lean at a door”, however the reasons why this phrase may be miss translated is because “to lean” can also be used as “based on” for example: “ამ ინფორმაციაზე დაყრდნობით” which means “based on this information”.

Although usually when one uses “დაყრდნობა” in that context the prefix is “და” implying “on” rather than “მი” implying “at”.

Ig an analogy of this would be translating “based in” the same way one would “based on”. The verb is the same, but the meaning changes :))
