Submission statement: Screw it, we’re in the “let’s fly a drone fighter jet into a fucking tornado for science” stage of our civilization. Transformers One has its work cut out in terms of satisfying 12-year-old kids looking for their latest cool robot flick. In more serious terms, it’s cool seeing some of our current advances in robotics and AI (I’ve seen some sources indicate that this drone is semi-[autonomous](https://www.colorado.edu/engineering/2019/07/01/meet-raaven-drone-gathers-data-storms)) being used to help people rather than hurt them, even if it does absolutely erase the line between sci-fi (and particularly mecha) and “mundane” genres like disaster, crime, action, romance, etc. in popular fiction. By this time in 10 years, the only remaining genres of fiction will be sci-fi, historical fiction, and fantasy, with the jump between the first two lying in the early 2020s.
