    I believe that a beautiful future awaits our species. However, unlike the ‘singularity camp’ I don’t think that it is around the corner. Great advances in the quality of life and longevity are in store for the grandchildren of our grandchildren, but we are going to be left out. It can be painful to live in the times like these, where our imagination is tantalized by the possibilities, while our objective (individual) prospects are so meager and limited. This is why I focus on biostasis as a sole source of hope. The idea of making a shot at that better future is something that has inspired me for a long time, even if one may judge that the chance is meager.

    In my previous article Project Abyss, I put forward a design for a personal biostatic time-capsule. In the new article Project Exodus, the vision is expanded into a futuristic and escapist adventure in which an individual ‘sets off into the unknown’, both literally and symbolically, via a personal submarine-yacht constructed using technology which is available to an individual; unconventional yet proven. It involves comfort, ticket to the world, freedom of business and lifestyle, and taking a head-start in seasteading and exploiting the ‘blue economy’…
