I don’t really understand why this sort of thing isn’t more common? Surely the people you want to be most literally invested in the success of your company are its workers? Rather than hoarding all the value among some private owner or a faceless cabal of nebulous investors, always seems like a better option to give your staff an actual reward directly tied to overall company performance.

Nice. They’ll be getting a lot of work over the next decade from defence, nuclear reactors for dreadnought subs, aukus subs for UK and Australia, engines for tempest gcap and also engines for the new hypersonic missile and all our new royal navy ships ( type 26, type 31).

When I checked the share price I though it was in Pounds which would have been 1.5 shares, but it’s really 150 which is very decent.

Tufan really seems to know what he’s doing, it’s been a long time since I’ve had this much confidence in a British company.

Uh oh. That will make their staff asset owning capitalists and therefore arch enemies of this sub

Wow, £700! My company gave me $480k of shares when I joined and another $240k after 1.5 years.
Not saying that to brag… this is nice but let’s keep some perspective

Get that sort of thing every year from BAe Systems.
It depends on your industry.

Our company has just done this too, awarding all employees 15 shares worth around £1600, which we can sell in 3 years.
It’s a welcome gesture and I’m not one to turn down free money, along with being able to buy shares in a SIP at a ratio of 1:1 the shares build up considerably and are a real incentive in the performance of the company.

I think if we had some sort of governance where every employee gets shares or it was tied to what directors get in way of share renumeration it would make society a much better place. Sick of most companies ‘we are one big family, we reward all employees’ – Ok put me on the share scheme – Company – wait no not like that!

I would like this. I have zero incentive to try at my job. I’m the hardest worker in my department by quite a margin, but only because its good exercise and I don’t want to be hassled by management. I would enjoy it if I had a single reason to care.
