Can’t help but count this as yet another event where we’ve had the #1 athlete and missed the opportunity for gold.
Beth Shriever, Emma Wilson, Joe Clarke, Team Triathlon, Amber Rutter, Kieran Reilly, Women’s coxless 4, Adam Peaty, Mens pair rowing, Charlotte Fry
Every one of those have dominated their sport for this olympic cycle, and were huge favourites to win their respective races after either dominating in the heats or the race itself.
That’s ten golds.
