      *The wife of a Tory councillor has been arrested for hate crimes after she called for hotels with asylum seekers in them to be set ablaze.*

      *She has since deleted the tweet and apologised, claiming she had acted on “false and malicious” information. But a number of people made complaints to the police about her allegedly inciting violence.*

      *The full post read: “Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f***ing hotels full of the bastards for all I care, while you’re at it take the treacherous government and politicians with them.”*

      *Referring to the families of the girls in Southport, she added: “I feel physically sick know what these families now will have to endure. If that makes me racist so be it.”*

      *In another post on Tuesday evening, Mrs Connolly said: “I am someone who cares enormously about children and the similarity between those beautiful children who were so brutally attacked, and my own daughter, overwhelmed me with horror, but I should not have expressed that horror in the way that I did.*

      *“This has been an invaluable lesson for me in realising how wrong and inaccurate things appearing on social media can be.”*

      It’d be interesting to know what false information she was acting on that made her think that encouraging people to burn buildings full of people was an appropriate thing to do. Like, I genuinely can’t think of any false information she could’ve been fed that would make that in any way acceptable. If she were my children’s childminder then I’d be pulling them out quicker than you could say “get that racist bitch away from my kid”.

      “Normal” Tories – It’s just a few bad eggs, you can’t say we’re all bad people just because we spent 10 years explicitly building our politics around going out of our way to demonize and be cruel to specific minority groups of vulnerable people.

      He told the BBC his wife made a “stupid, spur-of-the-moment tweet out of frustration and quickly deleted it”. She wanted innocent people to burn to death…

      Hope she gets 10 years. We really need to see these powerful people facing full force of the law not just your average toothless racist going to jail for 10 years

      The most chilling aspect of this is that this creature is a “child-minder”. There are a frightening number of people working in social care of various kinds who hold far right views, including racism, homophobia and transphobia, and believe in conspiracy theories about vaccines, ULEZ, ‘great replacement’, etc.
