Pure fury in the streets right now, it’s all anyone has spoken about at work all day

Well don’t buy it, then. Buy proper food ingredients instead of this convenience tat.

    3. Even a tin of tomatoes cooked with garlic and dried herbs is cheaper and healthier than dolmio. Takes the same time too.

    4. This should be a legal requirment to force changes in as obnoxious a way as possible, on the packet with the date, before and after weight/price.

The fact its done on the sly is the biggest concern for me.

Between shrinkflation and inflation, I consider the least worst option is for the price to go up than the size to come down.

At least the latter you can still get the same amount of meal.

Mars Inc is just a small family business trying to make ends meet, give them a break.

Just add your own sugar, E-numbers, yeast extract and onion powder to a can of tomatoes

    8. If the Establishment want riots and unrest this is how to get it.

But I suppose the Media will label the rioters “facist” and “far right” when all people want is a decent pasta based dinner.

      People are quite rightly fed-up.

We’ve found the real reason for the riots!

There will be Dolmio in the streets soon

Another reason not to buy packaged goods for home cooking. It gets to the point where the recipe doesn’t work anymore.

    11. Why are we surprised, really? Mars have an obligation to prioritise profit over everything, their shareholders come first.. of course they’re not going to lower the price.

I’m not defending them, but this is how it all works, right?

How is this news? Shrinkflation has been happening across many different product lines so it is strange Dolmio has been picked out specifically.

It’s takes 5 mins to cube an onion, a stick of celery and a carrot. fry, open a tin of tomatoes, add, sprinkle some premix Italian herbs + salt then add a dash of milk.

      Total cost about 40-50p.

Jar tomato sauce is a con.

    14. Matheson’s Turkey Rashers went up in price AND they reduced them from 8 rashers to 6.

Or you just could cook lasagne properly, it’s not hard and would be cheaper and taste better

The supermarkets have been shrinkflating the own brand sauces by keeping the jar the same size but making the sauce waterier and waterier.

A few of them I previously liked are sour tomato coloured water now, and they’re fucking shite. I had been putting tomato purée in the, to thicken them back up but now it just gives me sour tomato purée water.

The lidl one still resembles sauce but if it’s a big 4 supermarket then just forget it, it tastes like depression in a jar.
