Seems a dangerous precedent. What if you were casual walking past, no interest in joining the riots but stopped to see what was happening?

I’m curious; was the delightful chap in Leeds who set alight the bus fast tracked by the courts and sent to the slammer?

>Refusing bail, the judge said: “Anybody involving themselves in this type of behaviour, this type of disorder, as an active participant or a curious observer can expect to be, save for the most exceptional circumstances, remanded into custody, and this defendant is remanded into custody.”
While I’m all for locking up the rioters, I *strongly* disagree with this.
