So you don’t click it got removed by contractors tasked with dismantling the board as part of already planned work, and it was confirmed to be authorized by police.
If that ends up in a skip as the chap implies, I will change my name to Shirley.
Would anyone care if they didn’t know it was a Banksy?
He’s always kinda felt like art for people not really into art.
His art is shit and I don’t understand why everyone seems to think it is ok for him to deface public property.
I wonder if he’s decided to let somebody else fill in for him, because his recent stuff has been pretty terrible when it comes to stencils and the quality of the lines.
You used to get multiple layers of shading and actual detail with some real good quality artwork. Now it’s just one colour and pretty low effort.
I know he’s in his 60s now, I wonder if he’s got health or eye issues that make it harder to be as good as he used to be. Even his very basic rats had a white background, cut out eyes and a splash of colour and occasional shading. Just feels completely different to his recent stuff.
Anyone else fed up with the amount of media attention Banksy gets? It’s not like his stuff is even that impressive. But the media wet themselves in excitement the moment he does anything.
It’s boring at this point.
The article says the guy was removing it anyway and is going to donate it to an art gallery. Sounds like a great outcome to be honest, police said the location is dangerous as you have to stand in a road to see it.
Why does every Banksy artwork get a news story? It’s laser cut stencils and a tin of black spray paint at the end of the day.
I’m a bit confused…I get that he’s confirmed that it’s his work but it doesn’t look like his work at all. It’s a bit shit tbh…Kissing Coppers, Coloured Rain, Flower Thrower etc were layered, had white shading to create negative space, many has use of colour, sharpness, and were actually thought provoking.
I bet he’ll come out and say it’s not his after it’s all been taken down and sold at auction for hundreds of thousands.
