Unfortunately for Mango, he’s not in office and can’t refuse to leave. He loses the election, there’s no scenario he gets to be president.

Harris won’t even need Georgia at this point, and that is probably the only real problematic state, and even then, Trump attacking Governor Kemp and the SoS Raffensperger hating him, won’t make it a gimmee that any shenanigans at lower levels will work.

Once they realize they’re alone in a legal fight, they will suddenly remember to do their jobs.
Republicans always leave their supporters holding the bag.
I’m not even remotely worried if everyone gets out and votes. They can count and recount and reweight the ballots all they want, the results will be the same and treason will be on the table if they refuse.
This is why we need a blue wave. The larger the margin of victory, the harder it will be for corrupt republicans to refute it
Every republican needs to start thinking if going to court and potential jail is worth it because the Trumps are not coming to rescue you. They will say they never knew you.
Choose wisely.
Easy: if you refuse to certify we’ll just go on without your district’s ballots. All of them.
My concern is even if we manage to prevent them from stealing this election, it will be only because of some swift legal maneuvering between Nov-Jan. Those courts will need to rule in favor of Harris all the way up to SCOTUS.
Ok so maybe we get lucky this time. Then what happens in 2028, 2032, …? Eventually a Republican actually will win the election legitimately. No party ever keeps permanent control. There will be a major crisis, eventually, that sinks an incumbent Democratic president, and a majority of voters will actually choose a Republican.
That person might be an even more dangerous version of Trump. Imagine a more savvy and calculated version of Trump, someone with an actual agenda besides their own self interests.
Then, when that happens the Republican president will have 4 years to unravel any protections or safeguards we are trying to put in place now.
So while I am concerned about 2024, my deepest concerns are further out – ‘28, ‘32, ‘36. I don’t see how any of this ends well.
This is obvious. SCOTUS is now openly partisan and jail is at stake, not just winning.
Well, if it comes to this, the sitting president would have to act. Unlike Jan 6th, repercussions would be warranted if she actually won the vote.
If we know this is happening, DOJ sure as shit should too. I hope they are actively collecting evidence to throw these people in prison immediately when they try.
The Democrats need an overwhelming trifecta victory to ensure that the Fascists don’t try to illegally take power. Even then nothing is guaranteed.
Can we finally charge them criminally?
Everyone needs to get out front of this and call it out now. That way when it happens it lends credence to what people have been saying, and exposes it for the obvious cheating it is.
Several red state legislatures that could go for Harris have laws on the books now to throw out the results if they don’t like them.
Georgia is one of them.
We must show up in numbers so large they can’t cheat, and even then they’ll still try.
EDIT: Educate yourselves — it isn’t directly throwing out the result, that’s what they will be doing via the transitive property. What some of these red state legislatures have done is give themselves the ability to appoint alternate electors where there is “voter fraud” and you know that they’ll “find” it should the Republicans lose.
Couldn’t Biden just install 6 supreme justices at the last minute- call them acting scotus and over ride the cheating and attempt to overthrow the will of the people – I mean what could they do – president are immune OR kamala can just ignore the bs and certify herself like they wanted pence to do?
For years, I’ve maintained the opinion that after watching Flight 93 go down, and knowing what we do now, that nothing of that sort would ever happen again. We learned from their bravery and valor in such an extraordinarily horrific situation. It made everyone hyper aware of anything remotely out of the ordinary. This moment in time, to me, is very similar. We know what they’re up to, we see it, and will NOT let it happen.
I don’t trust Merrick Garland to act on this. I hope I’m proven wrong.
Please read the article, everyone. This is not about Congress certifying the election. It’s about county-level officials refusing to certify their local results.
This is much more insidious and dangerous.
If there can be anti-democracy, pro-MAGA militias, then they should know there can be pro-democracy, anti-MAGA militias too. The silent masses aren’t unarmed.
They will try and lose everything. All these traitors need to be locked up if they try anything.
