      > Dimitrie Stoica had been broadcasting to 700 followers as he walked around the city on Wednesday – when there were heightened fears of disorder.

      > Police said despite no problems occurring, at about 22:00 BST the 25-year-old told those watching he was being chased by “extreme right-wing rioters” and that he was in fear for his life.

      > On Friday, Stoica appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court where he admitted sending a false communication with intent to cause harm and was jailed for three months.

3 months custodial sentence for talking bollocks on a livestream to 700 people

    2. I’m in favour of throwing all the “tiktokers” in prison.

Or we can just ban that Chinese malware social virus.

    3. insane to give someone a custodial sentence for something like this. we live in a deeply authoritarian country

    4. Am i the only one enjoying all these internet tools and warriors getting sentences.

Threats of violence, murder threats, misinformation we truly are going full circle it’s beautiful.

    5. This is ridiculous. There is such irony in government/police showing great concern about far right viewpoints and then chucking people in jail for lying. Does Keir Stamer want people to include a source every time they open their mouths?

    6. AlmightyRobert on

We need some billboards putting up across the country “Don’t believe anything you see on social media. It’s all bollocks”.

Maybe I’ll set up a charity to fund it.
