That’s a really shit act since libraries are one of the few free third spaces we have. There will be kids that need them for getting out of chaotic houses for a few hours so they can study.
That being said, I am against jailing the two fuckups concerned unless they have any prior criminal record which makes it seem likely that they will reoffend. It looks like it was just a crazy act in the moment. I think the threat has subsided and we don’t need disproportionate sentencing beyond what criminals would usually receive.
