Much of the discussion is about things I already knew, but I hadn’t thought about less palm trees and more drought-resistant native trees with large canopies like lived oaks.
We all need to start our planning now, and cities will also need to adapt their plans to the coming changes. I don’t see individual nor cities doing both the short-term and long-term planning that will be needed.

Los Angeles needs to build more desalination plants along the coast. That will help tremendously to have a powerful local water source.
