In 1983, Steve Jobs envisioned a future where technology could allow us to talk to historical figures like Aristotle if everything they thought had been typed and stored in a computer. Fast forward to today—ChatGPT and other AI are bringing us closer to that vision. But what’s next? As we explore the possibilities of virtual beings, sentient AI, and consciousness preservation, we’re on the brink of a new age. Imagine preserving not just data, but the consciousness of ourselves and loved ones—just like in Westworld or I, Robot. How will we redefine life, intelligence, and what it means to be human as these technologies evolve? What do you think Steve Jobs would say if he saw the world today?

Let’s discuss the future implications of AI beyond its current capabilities. What might the next 10, 20, or 50 years look like? Could we someday interact with digital representations of ourselves and loved ones after death, similar to *Westworld* or *I, Robot*? What ethical and technological challenges will this bring? And what would Steve Jobs say about where we are today?

The guy who makes the video totally missed the most important point made by Jobs. Which is what?

It’s only partly about how good the *program* gets. The point is for a program to get good enough to capture the essence of a brilliant individual. Someone who might be so far ahead of everyone else, or someone who is unappreciated/unrecognized in their own time for whatever reasons.

If such an individual was to interact with software for a long enough period of time, and leave a pattern of information with sufficient detail and complexity… a competent AI could then use that as a template or Matrix for generating endless responses to prompts from users.

Imagine a 2024 version of Steve Jobs using reddit for 10 or 20 years. That might generate a detailed enough body of information for a Chat type program to generate comments or answers that were based on 20 years worth of “Jobs data”.

“Hey Chat-Gpt, what do you think Steve Jobs would say if he saw the world today?”

    >Steve Jobs might be both impressed and critical of the world today. He’d likely appreciate the advancements in technology, like smartphones and AI, recognizing how they’ve transformed communication and creativity. However, he might express concern about the impact of social media on attention spans and meaningful interactions. Jobs often emphasized simplicity and focus, so he might encourage a return to those values in the face of constant distraction. Overall, he’d probably see immense potential, urging innovators to prioritize purpose and design in their creations.

Now imagine the kind of answer the same prompt could produce in another 10 years.
