Hi all! I just spent a week in Telavi and Tbilisi, and when I was there I bought this Adjika from a market.
I was wondering exactly what I have here, as it‘s obviously not the saucey version, but it’s also not just pure spices it seems to me?
It’s crumbly and almost a bit moist and paste like. My questions are then:
- How long does it last?
- Do I need to mix it with water perhaps when used?
Thanks so much! I had such a great time when visiting and would love another taste of the country!

it’s called Dry Ajika, just mixed with dish while u are cooking.
The dry type, you can sprinkle it on salads or do whatever you do with spices, I’d say even apply it on bread with butter, it’s that awesome. Keep it in the fridge preferably, lasts an indefinite amount of time, careful though it’s hot hot hot
I’ll just add. Mix it with Mayo or sour cream and spread it on toast/bread. Makes a great dip too.
sprinkle on pasta with any kind of cheese sauce. also great with khachapuri
