Odd considering other armies including the U.S. and Canada you can join voluntarily at 17 yrs.
Conscription/draft – U.S. and Canada usually mentions the legal age to serve as being the guideline.

I’m a fella who is strongly against forced conscription, which is an easy position to hold as an american. But if their country is being invaded by their bigger stronger neighbor what else are they supposed to do?

I mean it makes sense, you are in a total war. Russia is looking to exterminate you and your way of life. You should be using as many abled body citizens as possible. With the US aid passing and EU/NATO delivering stuff, training should start immediately for all these new troops.

Even smarter to just open it out to both sexes instead of requiring it of only one. You increase your pool by double or more and get an expanded skill set.
