    1. “UK private sector employment contracted at the fastest pace in nearly four years in December, according to a closely watched survey that points to companies pulling back from hiring after Rachel Reeves’ tax-hiking Budget.”

      The party of growth.

    2. We’ve moved 1/3 of our UK operation to mainland Europe in the last three months, primarily at the request of senior and middle engineering and R&D staff.

It’s likely that we will continue to up staff from now on in the two offices we’ve opened there and fly people back for meetings in London or the US when needed.

Of the U.K. staff remaining approximately 1/4 have said they’d like the option to relocate next year. It’s worthwhile noting that the majority are European nationals who’ve simply had enough of the cost of living here when matched against the quality of life that affords.

To date that’s just over £3.5m in salaries that have been moved with another £800-1m possible dependent on staff choice. As we grow it’s unlikely we will put much further effort into the U.K. for the foreseeable future.

It’s not an enormous amount of money in the general scheme of things for the exchequer but we are one of several companies that are doing or looking to do the same.

    3. I’m right wing but you can’t blame a government thats only been in power for 5 months…The Conservatives had 14 yrs and are liable for how the country is.

    4. I’m still baffled why Labour honoured the Tories national insurance cut and didn’t just state at the time to reverse it, I don’t think it would have cost them the election and would have saved some of the fallout from the employer NI rates.

    5. Tories spend 14 years ruining the UK economy.

Labour spend 5 months in power.

      UK economy is still ruined.

RAAHHHH LABOUR AREN’T WORKING KIER SHOULD RESIGN RAAHHHH

You people are dumb as muck…. It’ll take YEARS before we see any real effects from Labours policies.

    6. We judged Conservatives on their 14 years, at least judge Labour on their 5, especially when they have clearly made the not nice decisions early in order to make the nicer decisions later.

    7. The media never held the Tories to similar standards of performance for 14 years and now everything is Labours fault 5 months in.

The collective amnesia of this country is insane.

    8. I have been looking at moving my operation to Poland in the last couple of months. Things just keep getting worse and Labour are trying their best to hammer the final nails in the coffin at this point..

    9. My company relocating lots of roles to the Eastern Europe. Nothing to do with Brexit (we are UK focused), but everything to do with cost of labour and taxation. All the admin stuff is now in Bulgaria, most of devs soon too. Only top positions remain in the UK (not sure for how long).

    10. When will the BOE pull its head out its arse and react to what is happening?

Way too slow to raise and way to slow to drop rates.

    11. Taxes up for the business, good staff leaving they wont pay more, no pay rises or bonuses, overtime stopped. Well done government

The company I work for moved it’s HQ to Germany because of Brexit. I ended up moving to Berlin because of it and have no plans to return to the UK

Solve the problem by making UK taxes apply to anyone with a UK residency visa or UK citizenship. If you want to leave for tax reasons you give up any rights in this country.

The private sector needs to join the fight against the nimby and landlord hordes to get Britain building again. It’s in the interests of the private sector to reduce the cost of living.

    15. Some people in this thread will claim its all because of Brexit but i would claim that it’s Nothing to do with Brexit everything to do with the highest business rates and taxes the countries had since World War II

Everything to do with cost of living crisis!

Everything to do with highest energy prices in the world!

but mind you it won’t stop people like Alistair Campbell claiming it is when it definitely isn’t never mind…
