We need to seriously reconsider who we allow into our country. Khamzat Chimaev, who seems to be admired by some in Georgia, is closely associated with Ramzan Kadyrov, Vladimir Putin, and the Akhmat Sila forces, which have been involved in the war in Ukraine, killing Ukrainians. If Kadyrov or Putin ever ordered them to invade Georgia, they wouldn’t hesitate. And yet, this is the same Khamzat Chimaev who was seen riding around Tbilisi yesterday, casually meeting with Georgian Dream officials, while our country’s future slips away.
Then there’s Liana Jojua, another figure who enjoys public admiration here. She has no problem living in Georgia and representing it, yet her father is a criminal with strong ties to Russia and Kadyrov. She has even been pictured wearing an Akhmat Sila hoodie, further linking her to Kadyrovite circles.
The point is, we must be more discerning about who we admire, support, and allow into this country. Stop idolizing people like Khamzat Chimaev and Liana Jojua, especially when their ties to hostile forces are evident. And let’s stop romanticizing North Caucasian cultures that are, in many ways, rooted in archaic values and practices. Russia has perpetuated the narrative that we are closely linked to these groups to keep us distanced from Europe. But we are Europeans, descendants of the Colchians, brothers of the Greeks. This narrative of clustering us with North Caucasian tribes is another tool of Russian influence. Historically, these tribes raided our lands, stole our people, and caused immense suffering. They are not our brothers; they are our historical adversaries.
We must recognize who our true friends and foes are.

What are you talking about? There’s a lot of consideration going on, on part of our government. For example, they are very careful not to let in journalists and activists who have history of criticizing Putin.
Its the other way around, they make assosiated with big names like khamzat and others. And honestly we have to reconsider other things first. Georgia is FULL of russian agents, and i mean Full, ones you never see or will ever see, or you may see but never think of them of agents. Leave khamzat out of this. He has Georgian friends and was here to see them for a day. If kadirov or putin want to do anything here it wont be through someone like khamzat lol. And who’s we thats reconsidering? And how. Are you gonna send geno petriashvili and the heavylifter out first? Or just because they are georgians they cant be or passivley without realising support Russian ideology? Khamzat had his family in chechnya when he became ufc famous, kadirov took advantage of it. Its an emotional post, not thought through. Also dont ask of them to be well read-in politics just because he handshaked Kaladze yesterday lol. He dont give a fuck. He was a guest for a day and he was met well as a guest. What you say is the problem is a symptom of a root problem.
I want to ask you, who have you admired or admire?
Everything you’ve stated about not admiring clear war criminals is true but a bizarre shade being thrown at all Caucasus cultures is extremely strange and delusional.
Based post.
I don’t want to undermine anything you said, but I would like to say that when Kadyrov comes calling to you when your family is still in Chechnya, it’s a bit hard to say no…
Especially after what happened with Fedor and Edilov. And not to mention everything outside of MMA.
As far as I know, Chimaev is pro Ukrainian from what he has said, I think he seems like a good guy but of course we never really know famous people. Don’t know who that woman is though 😅
Just want to make it clear I don’t want to undermine anything you’ve said
Happiest gay couple I have ever seen.
It is very thoroughly considered, my friend. Our government has long betrayed the country.
There’s no “we” deciding who gets into the country and who doesn’t. End of the story.
Unless the protests succeed, these talks are an extremely useless bait.
