The problem with people like Musk is anything less than full 100% obedience is seen as “betrayal”. As soon as they disagree on anything (in this case, Tommy Robinson) then they’ll turn on each other.

What are the chances Farage actually steps down over Musk applying pressure? If it aids his party would he allow himself to be chucked out in order to get the money for the campaign?
If they were clever, they’d kick him out, accept the donation and then ignore Musk and bring him back on in a less major role. That way they have the money and the populist figure who runs there party.
Obviously I hope they both just cease all together and disappear from British politics but that’s what I’d do in their position.
Musk really is stupid. Reform is the party of Farage, if they lose him they lose all momentum. If he’s serious about pushing their dumbass agenda, then he needs Farage at the helm for them to win seats.
I was worried about the rise of the far right but I didn’t take into account what a bunch of absolute morons they are. They’ll eat each-other and themselves.
Musk’s rhetoric is trying to stir up the lowest common denominator (i.e. the BNP types) whereas Farage knows that such lowbrow tactics will not be effective when it comes to realistically generating vote share.
Those people would have voted reform regardless & resorting to “overthrow the government”, “free Tommy” & “lock up Jess Phillips” only serves to make reform appear “chavy” & alienates anyone who is even slightly moderate.
Will Farage continue to take his money? I suspect this is a stunt so that a new leader is chosen and Musk ends up bankrolling them for a song.

To be contrarian though- This may actually be a good thing for reform, certainty long-term. They’ve been given a warning early on that hitching a lift with the bonkers American right and importing their talking points is a bad idea. It puts off people across the political spectrum here.
I actually think being in bed with Trump/Musk would put quite a ceiling on their support, and if they ever want to get comfortably in to 25-30% range they need to distance themselves from them.
