  1. The Intel researchers’ driving focus, they write, is sustainable laptop production, which goes hand in hand with the right-to-repair movement. This movement enables future users to repair and upgrade their machines without being penalized by technology companies through restrictions on getting components or tools to make the repairs.

  2. I guess nobody is old enough to remember when this was just how laptops worked. It’s kind of pointless IMO because because the improvements are always incremental and by the time they are significant enough all the standards have moved on and you have to upgrade everything anyway.
