Hello.
Looking for advice.
A week ago I was in Sakartvelo and bought some churchkhela to bring back home.
When I got back, I found them like this.
At first I thought it was sugar crystalizing outside. But some of them have the marks in forms of fingerprints, which to me seems more like how a mold would grow.
And the one in the last picture seems to look really like mould with something similar to "connected pathways".
I could use some insight on whether there are safe to eat.
Marriage.

It’s not mould , it’s powdered sugar / flour ….
I was also skeptical at first ,then one of my friends offered me some , i couldn’t decline and gave it a taste ,
It’s really powdered sugar….
If you still feel uncomfortable , just wash it and give it a taste. ( Unless it’s on figs , yes they pour powdered sugar on figs too )
Still you don’t feel right :- purchase it from a store i.e.carre four , goodwill etc.
It’s not mold. You can eat it.
They will mold over time if stored improperly (like wrapped in plastic). Keeping them exposed to air will allow them to dry out naturally and then they won’t mold
The second one from the right looks a little sus. I think the other ones just have sugar coming out. Try tasting them.
I’ve got that red one too! That’s Neville Longbottom’s wand, right? And I think it’s Snape’s on the right…

…Wait!
It might be mold, send me some, so I can taste it for you. I’ll need 2 keys please
If it’s molded it will be inside too and even more inside than outside so check it, if it’s dried properly and stored properly churchkhelas last for very long time
Its sugar, not mold. Its safe to eat, but if you hate how it looks just wash it.
It’s probably just crystallized sugar, but it’s churchkhela, so if you get food poisoning at least it’ll be worth it.
