  1. From the article

    >Artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a [powerful and essential tool](https://www.catf.us/2024/11/new-report-finds-ai-high-performance-computing-poised-fast-track-fusion-energy-technologies/) for managing the inherent challenges in fusion research. It holds promise for handling the complex data and convoluted relationships between different aspects of the fusion process. This not only enhances our understanding of fusion but also accelerates the development of new reactor designs.

    >By addressing these hurdles, AI offers the potential to significantly compress timelines for the development of fusion devices, paving the way for the commercialisation of this form of energy.

  2. Any thing we know that is basically a matter of engineering and no fundamental physical barriers will be accomplished in the next 5 years due to AI. After that AI will be making new science.

  3. Meanwhile, AI:
    – How much is 1 + 1?
    – AI: 2
    – No, its 3. You are wrong.
    – AI: Apologies! You are absolutely right, 1 + 1=3

  4. Couldn’t and if so shouldn’t AI first of all help overcome the hurdles of our socio-politic-economic organization?
Surely the rich people who like the idea of having more than others and exerting power on others won’t like this idea, but that’s another story.
