So basically Trump and netanyahu came to an arrangement in old school imperialism stylee to divi up palestine between themselves.
Israel was created on the back of the ethnic cleansing of jewish people by the nazis. Can nobody see the irony of israel ethnically cleansing palestinians with the help of a neo-nazi united states.
It is incredible, but the post war, rules based, peacetime is over. The right wing nutters appear to have come back and as always the world is becoming destabilised.
The US is literally going to have monumentally pissed everybody in the world off in the space of a couple of weeks.
That’s the principle. But will they be willing to uphold it, particularly if it means standing up to the US?
Politician need to stop reacting to this stuff. If asked about it by media just say we will wait to see formal diplomatic approaches on the subject. Reacting to every little thing that pops into Trumps brain is going to be exhausting and a strategy needs to be developed so that everyone is not constantly dancing to Trump’s tune. Most of the stuff Trump says is never happening and reacting to it is a distraction.
I can’t help but wonder if someone has suggested a plan and Trump has completely misunderstood it.
An absolute shit ton of investment into Gaza, creating jobs, investment and a pleasant place to live would do more to undermine Hamas than decades more of enforced siege mentality.
Okay Keir, start with sanctions, stop any fund raising for Israel here. Stop British citizens joining the IDF given how complicit they will be in ethnic cleansing.
Trump is probably distracting the international community from the fact that Elon Musk has gained ilegal access to America’s Treasury’s data base and he is closing goberment institutions lelt, right and center denying them of payments. They are trying to fire every one at the CIA and get rid of the FBI agents who investigated the insurrection. A coup is going on at the moment.
For most of these people, Gaza was not really a home. Gaza was a refugee camp, the largest in the world, of people who lost their homes in 1948, again in the 1960s, and their descendants. It’s one of the most densely populated places on Earth, and the housing and infrastructure they had built up is again in ruins. These people deserve greater autonomy, land, and peace
I will never understand the far right. Immigration is too damn high, but wait let’s kick people out of a foreign country for no good reason. I’m sure none of them will come to our shores. Keep the Gazans in Gaza. They shouldn’t be forced out and coming knocking at our door.

Trump is eyeing it up as prime seaside real estate, because to a hammer everything looks like a nail, and he fancies a Trump Golf resort hotel charging Florida dentists $$$ to golf by the Med. Which aligns with Netanyahu’s ethnic cleansing and land grab intentions, for the moment.
However, Trump underestimates the sheer history and depth of the rancour in that region yet again. There’ll be snipers and suicide bombers picking off the golfers at a fierce rate. Nothing empowers terrorism (or freedom fighting, because the old adage says that one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter) like a sense of righteous grievance.
Future generations might find it hard to get past Israel’s genocide now to see them as victims of anything, either now, back in the ’30s and ’40s, or in the future.
Israel has really shot itself in the foot here. Six million murders didn’t eradicate Jews, so how many Palestinians do Netanyahu and his fellow psychopaths intend killing to make future Israel ‘safe’?
You can’t bomb a race out of existence any more than you can bomb revenge out of their hearts.
Farage is yet to make a statement on his position on this? Strange. Previously he’s been quick to highlight his views on international affairs relating to the US.
I was genuinely confused by this headline until I realised he was talking about Gaza, not the homes many were expelled from to Gaza.
The man slavishly supports a genocidal slaughter for months then claims he’s all for a two-state settlement.
US and Israel must be stood up to or we’ll have another refugee crisis to deal with.

If Trump does try to grab Gaza in the same way that Putin grabbed Crimea, then the sanctions levied against him need to be of a similar intensity.

It’s honestly baffling why if offered they wouldn’t take a deal like that. Gaza is a complete shithole. It’s a pile of rubble. If I was a Palestinian and had the opportunity to relocate to another country that wasn’t North Korea I’d take it in a heartbeat.
Of course the main problem is no country wants to take them, even their ideological islamic allies because wherever the Palestinians have gone in the past, conflict with the locals and civil wars followed. These are a people that seem fundamentally incompatible with peaceful co-existence with anyone, preferring tribal warfare any chance they get.
The land would be much better used to be developed for something like a particle collider, solar farm, bio-tech labs, etc instead of the muslims vs jews PVP server it’s been for the last 80 years, and will continue to be for the next century.
