I was originally not going to include the 1993 Mario movie since it was so long ago and seems to belong to a different era, but in the end I decided it is a Mario movie after all. Nintendo would want us to forget. I was 8 years old at the time and even then I knew I had witnessed something truly wrong.

I don’t understand how you can make a revenue chart and not note if it’s inflation adjusted. Otherwise, it’s not useful.

That’s crazy. I was exceptionally let down by the Mario movie. Great animation, but the storyline and the voice acting (other than Jack Black) really fell flat. I was pleasantly surprised by the writing and quality of the Sonic movies. They’re enjoyable to watch. Glad they didn’t use ugly Sonic.

Full animated world that emulates the game vs cg characters thrust into the boring real world. Seriously why is Cyclops Sonics fucking dad now?! Weird shit.

I appreciate the inclusion of the 1993 Super Mario Bros movie.
This is also somehow the reason why Hasbro doesn’t want to make another D&D movie even though it was only out one week (debuted at #1) before being crushed with every other movie for weeks by the #2 movie of 2023.
