    What’s this below the seat in an U Bahn in NRW?


    Saw this at one of the U bahns in NRW. It is below under each seat and has a window to see the (dust) meter? Anybody knows what this is?

      It’s sand which is poured between wheels and tracks to improve breaking conditions when the track is slippery (for example in fall).
