The 42-year-old used a school-issued iPad to take pictures of the girls’ legs and buttocks, and in one case breasts, over a three-week period in March 2023 while they attended his classes.
A victim impact statement read to the District Court heard one of the students had developed paranoia since the incident and her grades had suffered – particularly in maths.
The man, who the ABC is not naming to protect the identity of his victims, had only just started working at the school when the offences took place.
Just as important as doing your professional job, if not more, is following an organisation’s code of conduct. The fact is that we are always in relationships and interactions. A code of conduct is ultimately about making the place safe and comfortable for every one. And it reminds people of criminal offences.
I know plenty of alcoholics who don’t take inappropriate photos of children. Fuck the lawyer and the teacher, just say you’re sick and you fucked up big and take your sentence (which is probably nothing, maybe 6 months of court ordered counselling).

Always use your personal equipment to take photos of boobs and bums.
“Ms Allan-McCochnie said her client denied a sexual interest in children and a psychiatrist assessed him as having a healthy and respectful attitude to women, something the court accepted.” How did they come to that conclusion? In what way can he be considered respectful? Alcohol/substance misuse is used way too often as an excuse for abuse.
