He’s not exactly wrong, it’s just not a good look for him to say that about a close ally politically. He is wrong that immigration would fix the Japanese economy, however. The Japanese economy isn’t really struggling right now in the same way China or Russia are, so it’s a bad comparison regardless.

He’s stating facts, there’s nothing really wrong with that. I live in Japan and would say the same thing, they’re still scared of anything that’s not Japanese in areas outside of tourist spots.

This country needs more immigrants. Obviously to take over the jobs no one wants but also to be the new lower class.

I mean he isn’t wrong. Japan’s work force will only decline with time due to the lower birthrates. It needs more workers and their stance on immigration will only hurt them in the long run.
You cannot grow an economy if your population continues to grow older and shrinks.
