    1. Note that the man who burned his personal copy of the Quran has been remanded in custody and the man who attacked him with a knife has been bailed.

Edit: He’s now been bailed after appearing at Westminster Magistrates today, thankfully after pleading not guilty.

    2. Absolute joke, guy with the knife should not have been allowed bail.

Went back in for the knife. Was pre meditated.

Would have stabbed him to death if no cameras.

Now knowing the name of the guy who burned the Quran, he appears to be Turkish. Doing it outside of the Turkish embassy.

    4. The man who burned the Quran is from Turkey and was protesting Erdogan, who has gradually made the country more and more Islamist.

What sort of regarded country one lives in if a person can get arrested for burning a book he or she owns.

I don’t have any desire to burn a Qur’an, but I read this and it exemplifies that’s there’s something fundamentally wrong with how our justice system weighs crimes.

      It’s insane.

The fact the book in question breaks several hate speech laws is also hilarious.

Yet here we are having bend over backwards to cater their ridiculous views

I hope this encourages many to burn a quran. The twat with the knife needs putting down, sure as fuck shouldn’t have been bailed with that video evidence. Was the magistrate who bailed him a Muslim by any chance?

Typically we bail the vast majority of people here, with the exception of murder cases and people who pose an enormous flight risk. Both people are bailed despite what it says above. Nothing particularly to note of. Should burning a religious text be a crime to begin with? In my opinion probably not, but this isn’t evidence of two tier justice system this is the justice system working exactly like it’s intended too, people need to calm down

    10. And the delivery driver who decided to kick the guy whilst he was down on the ground after being attacked by the guy with the knife?

    11. Why are the west so infatuated with Islam? It’s the same bollocks we have to listen too about Russia and China.

All nonsense to distract from the real issues.

Blasphemy laws should not exist in any form in this country, for any religion, and violence against “blasphemy” should never be tolerated or excused. That is not and never has been a far right opinion to hold.

Absolutely disgraceful and if the guy burning the quran gets convicted of anything some laws need to be seriously changed.
