  1. Hey, the second nominee that isn’t completely crazy. He shouldn’t have too much trouble with the senate, like Rubio.

  2. > We should invest a reasonable amount of resources coupled with extreme work intensity

So don’t invest into your people as much as they invest into your project?

This is just more fairytale wishes. They bank on theoretical technological discoveries and increase their need for resources in a time where we need to cut budgets. The timeline just does not line up.

A colony on Mars is doomed. It’s a dead planet with none of the resources necessary to sustain life long-term. We don’t know for sure, but it is doubtful people can be born in micro-gravity, and if a c-section is performed, the children will likely not make it to adulthood. Mars would need constant resupply missions to keep it viable, likely costing billions of dollars that would be better spent on many different things, like food and housing security here on earth.

If we piss money away pursuing a colony on Mars that requires billions a year to upkeep, i will be the opposite of inspired. Making humans “multi-planet” does not keep us safe from extinction. Mars will not sustain without the earth, keeping it supplied. If earth goes, Mars is fucked. We should focus on earth. If we wish to colonize something, let’s at least try to go to the moon and harvest resources there.

They want to establish an umbilical cord to mars that sucks the wealth of the working man into the pocketbooks of the oligarchs. Mars will not be landed on in 2028, as he says. We were supposed to go to the moon last year, delayed. If you believe any of this bullshit that they are spouting, you are being willfully foolish.
