The law seems pretty clear here so while I am not “cheering her punishment” I don’t really have any issues with her being charged. Women have a right to seek medical treatment and advice without being harrassed..

Thankfully the percentage of religious loonies in the UK is low enough that the anti-abortionists get very little support, it’s crazy to think that in the United States polls show the general population are almost in favour of banning abortions (generally 40-45 percent support for banning abortion in most cases)

Just leave family planning clinics alone and go and wave your signs somewhere else. Problem solved.

Break the law and get charged for breaking it. Nothing special to see here.

Really not fucking hard is it?

If you object to abortion being legal then protest at parliament and lobby the lawmakers to change.
If you protest at a medical facility, you’re just a bully wanting to harass vulnerable women going through a difficult time.

If they actually cared about getting their _message_ out they’d be protesting in places with high footfall – like the high street. Instead they’re targeting women (and not just pregnant women) for the crime of ‘being near a hospital’.

In fairness, this is a really hot topic for any 74 year old woman.

Good, I’m glad the buffer zones are being taken seriously by law enforcement.

It would save everyone a lot of time and effort if they just banned all protest.
Stop drip feeding the oppression, please.

Women have been performing abortions for thousands of years. Those herbs that are linked to witches—guess what they do to the fetus? Make a woman have a abortion.

I’m not a fan of protesting outside abortion clinics but as signs goes hers was far more kind than I was expecting.

buffer zones made my abortion day 10000% easier (and it was still a rough day). forever grateful for them being around. if you are protesting near abortion clinics, perhaps spend your time instead lobbying politicians, helping fund charities that help with coercion, and helping access contraception.
during my abortion, the nurses asked me around 5 times if i was being coerced. wouldn’t let my bf at the time near the room. had to do the consultation alone. if someone won’t speak up there, they’re not going to speak to someone outside the clinic.

Imagine spending your retirement harassing younger women, what a pathetic thing to do, glad she’s been charged. The law is quite clear, harassing women seeking medical attention is wrong on so many levels.

I’m near positive the people that support protesting outside health centers, are also the same people that support executions for JustStopOil protesters on the M25.
