They should have done that in January 2022 and immediately offered Russia to withdraw symetrically. Russia would have screamed to no end, but there would have been no war.

Presuming you’re going to send troops on a Russian breakthrough, It would be a whole lot easier and more effective to send them Before any Breakthrough happens.
