    1. Is anyone surprised? I don’t mean to generalise but a lot of over 40s are more prone to voting for right wing political party’s

    2. Significant-Fruit953 on

      I think it’s really fuelled by right wing media pushing Reform at every opportunity. I think Farage being pro Trump and admiring Putin will cost Reform a lot of support.

    3. It’s just the Brexit lot, with such fragile egos, they are doubling down rather than admitting they made a nation-wrecking mistake.

      Their misguided sense of self-worth is more precious than the prosperity of their country.

      Insecurity-fuelled traitors.

    4. Convenient that this should go out today, to con people into thinking Farage is still popular whilst he desperately… Desperately tries to remain noncommittal on Ukraine.

    5. Bitter and resentful with how your life turned out?
      Stuck in a loveless marriage?

      Perhaps you left your family and struggling to have a meaningful relationship with your kids due to the generational differences?

      A life time of booze and drugs, a culture designed for working class, influenced by football?

      Hangovers have worsened, leading to more depression??

      Your dick doesn’t get hard like it used to?

      Can’t run or play sports?

      Money troubles?

      Yearn for the good old days?

      Vote Reform…they’ll be your outlet for your unhappiness with life. You ain’t in your 20s anymore and everyone should suffer.

    6. Quiet-Math-7841 on

      and they tried to make everyone believe they were some popular new youth movement when in reality it was the same racist old codgers as usual

    7. Every year since brexit, i’ve seen fewer and fewer people turn up to vote. Those that did seem to be in their 40-50+. I believe i read that around 60% of those eligible to vote, actually did.

    8. Labour, they already fucking won’t vote for you no matter what you do. Can you please be wise and invest in the youth for once for fucks sake

    9. QuestionDue7822 on

      This is poll is bullshit, the common denominator in reform voters is bigoted and hateful racist, dumb and arrogant sociopathic manipulative and domineering people of all ages.

    10. Nostalgia politics, lot of these folks view the past with rose tinted lenses and want to go back, when in reality their time had their own issues and troubles, they just weren’t as aware

    11. Bollocks to Reform and bollocks to this continued attempt by the media and the establishment to distract and divide us by stoking mistrust and infighting between arbitrarily-decided generational cohorts. No matter our age we should be united against this shit. Signed, a 50 yo who definitely did not vote for Reform, and doesn’t know anyone who did.

    12. UKOver45Realist on

      I’m over 45 and I see him exactly for what he is. A self serving grifter. And I remember when grifters were just bikes !

    13. Support for Reform by age bracket:

      * 18-34 – 20%

      * 35-44 – 21%

      * 45-54 – 25%

      * 55-64 – 29%

      * 65+ – 32%

      I’m actually surprised the age divide isn’t larger. This doesn’t seem like that significant a divide. Clickbait headline. The Independent seems to exist to generate clickbait headlines for social media.

    14. BadgerGirl1990 on

      Well yea anyone could have told you that.

      45+ male, white, bald or balding, drinks to much, over weight, bad teeth, usually divorced or their wife wishes they were, reads the mail and telegraph and watches GB news, there football team makes up 90% of there personality and football and politics are the only things they talk about, creepy af to women, would have been signed for Man U if they hadn’t hurt there knee in yr 11 and like to tell you that, has to declare how straight they are if there’s any hit on homosexuality around them even though we all saw them check out that twink, has a penchant for crying after too much to drink about how much there life sucks and how much they miss there daddy and want to be as good as him at manly manning

      Probs has a coke addiction too nowadays

      We all know the type

    15. BigDumbGreenMong on

      Getting older is fucking depressing. I’m seeing more and more of my friends getting taken in by GB News talking point and veering off to the political right.

      15 years of tory vandalism and they had nothing to say. But now, everything the Labour Party does is met with a constant stream of vitriol.

      I’m probably going to cut out some of my oldest friends, it’s too exhausting.

    16. Cynical_Classicist on

      That may be good in that they’re older… but it’s still scary how many young people are happily turning to fascism, swallowing up the warped ideas of masculinity from the likes of Andrew Tate and Elon Musk, thinking that tweets and TikTok videos entertaining them mean that they should lead them.

    17. Far_Economist_5377 on

      The same idiots who kept voting in the tories are upset that they got what they voted for. Now they want Reform to come in a destroy the country even more. What next? after a decade of Reform looting the economy, these braindead fucks will probably just straight up become nazi’s or something. Like an endless cycle of the dumbest people in society **radicalising** themselves lol.

    18. The term “no shit Sherlock” comes to mind.

      Of course most Reform voters aren’t young. Reform wants to make life worse for young people.

      It’s the same as leaving the EU. Leave voters were primarily older folk because it was clear as day to anyone with a working brain that the negative effects of Brexit would affect young people more than anyone else.

      The older generations in this country are in large part selfish. They have no interest in leaving this country a better place for the younger generations. It maddens me how so many of them can be so ignorant and selfish.

    19. What a shock. The same demographic that caused Brezit and kept the Tories in power is now looking for new and fresh ways to ruin the country.

    20. LurkHereLurkThere on

      This 47 year old will never vote Reform and wishes Farage would just fuck off out of the UK and never return.

    21. kaia-the-magpie on

      Russian assets are trying to weaken the west. It was a conspiracy before. Now its factual.

    22. SpaceTimeRacoon on

      We need to crack down on right wing media as a country.

      X is just straight propoganda. Musk is out posting fake shit about migrant attacks using AI images

    23. AnotherYadaYada on

      Nearly 50. Fuck if I’ll ever vote conservative or for this piece of fucking shit.

      I may drink too much wine and have partaken in Mary Jane over the years, but I still have some brain cells left.

    24. Old man here…Farage is a spiv who will never get my vote.
      He was in his element when he was on the outside,throwing in his bag of shit,shouting and screaming about the “problems” that the UK faces,but offering no solutions.Then he got on the inside,(MEP then an MP) and showed himself up for what he is.A chancer who hardly turned up in Brussels and appears to be doing nothing for his constituents in Clacton.

    25. Not content with fucking us over with Brexit, the older voters now want to fuck us over by supporting the same bunch of useless traitorous cunts that gave us Brexit, renamed as Reform.

      They’ll do what they have always done; point at obvious problems and suggest “common sense” solutions that won’t work. And gullible idiots who fell for it last time and have the memories of goldfish will line up behind them again.

      There’s a lot that needs fixing in this country and the wider world. Farage and his merry band of racist fuckwads won’t have the first clue how to address any of them. They’ll just line their own pockets, stoke division and hatred and report their success back to their mates in the Kremlin.

      He should be in the Tower. Not Parliament.

    26. Muted-Landscape-2717 on

      Its all divide and rule tactics, keep us plebs busy arguing over culture wars, boats etc. whilst the real wealth transfer goes unnoticed.

      Brexit was all about taking back control. But farage would never say a word about foreign governments owning UK infrastructure. But if the UK government wanted to nationalise something that would be labeled communist.

      Like trump they know the buttons to push, so people will vote against Thier own interest, secure in the knowledge that the “other” was going to have it worse.
