Every windfarm announcement is pure guff anyway, since when it is actually windy enough in this country to generate so much spare energy that it can no longer be effectively metered, the private energy firms disconnect the turbines from the grid, and the government pays them compensation for ‘lost earnings’ during the downtime period.
