We’re regressing socially, I fear any significant improvements to animal welfare are very far away. We can’t even get people to care about people anymore.

Voters in US don’t understand the difference in polls vs elections.
Politicians don’t care about polls anymore because people don’t vote matching to what they say in polls.

It just seems really silly to say you care a lot about animal cruelty and then still eat meat. Like, the cages aren’t the main point of cruelty here; being killed immediately upon reaching full size is. Regardless of what this poll says i doubt many people ACTUALLY care. Certainly not enough to change their vote.
