Is it just me, or does that lander seem to have a high center of gravity? Any significant horizontal velocity combined with inclined terrain or hard matter impacting a leg or two would seem to be a recipe for disaster.

It’s because the wind is too strong. They need to land when the weather is calmer.

They will change name in counterintuitive machines
Or counterclockwise maybe it will not flip.
I don’t think is some CoG problem, I don’t believe they mistook that, twice.
I don’t remember has autonomous landing or guided?

Maybe change the design so it’s more horizontal than vertical. So land it as normal, let it fall or do its thing again and bam, you’re oriented correctly.

We try one more landing, maybe we manage to do a full 360 backflip.

Can’t count how many times I had this happen to me in KSP. So funny.

Don’t look up was a glimpse into the true future, just like idiocracy and demolition man.

again? I would be more sympathetic to a different kind of failure but having the same company put up another lander and experience falling over again is just kinda sad

We’ve all had that happen to us on KSP at one time or another

Just this evening someone made the comment that these things need kickstands.
Like, it lands and starts to tip, the kickstand pops out. Brilliant!

Remember that cow tipping shit we used to do in the 80’s and blame it on the aliens? Guess its revenge time.

Whelp, back to testing in Kerbal Space Program.
shortfinal on
In the post landing conference the CEO said something about issues with the landing lasers again.
Last time it was they were safed and could not even be powered. They fixed that by moving the wiring into a nearby loom.
This time the got unexpected noisy data from one laser about 100km up and decided to disable it. Then during descent, the second laser cut out until right before it was no longer relevant.
Something something testing these lasers in space is hard.
Oh and IM3 delayed until they get their NSN sats up, assuming nasa doesn’t yank that contract courtesy Elonia. Can he? Probably not, but the litigation and drama would damage the company
