I’m waiting on something developing a weekly episodic comedy series based on this whole ordeal.

Why couldn’t the headline just read?:

    – NASA astronauts on a 10-day space mission that lasted 9 months to finally return home on March 16

  3. HungryKing9461 on

They were given a landing date in September when they became a part of the current crew.

They date changed a few times.  But they always had a date.

And even the date of March 16th could change depending on a number of factors, including the weather at the landing site.

    There’s no “at last” here.

Honey remind me to never ever send you to the store for milk. 9 months and you still didn’t come home with milk.

  5. It’s very possible the astronauts will receive a one month pause on their return.

  6. I have a feeling that if you had all of the astronauts that have ever served on the ISS in the same room, and you asked the question:

“If you were asked to extend your stay on the ISS from your current mission length, to a potential length of 9 months, would you accept?”, there would be 100% hands in the air “Yes!”!

They weren’t stranded. They were gifted with an extended adventure! Astronauts aren’t whiners, they’re explorers! The longer the expedition, the greater the exploration!

“Where no one has gone before!

This was suni’s last flight due to radiation dosage limits so I bet she was totally excited about it morphing into a six month expedition instead of 10 days.
