This Zinnia is the first flower ever grown entirely in space! It was part of NASA’s Veggie experiment and was cultivated inside the ISS in a controlled environment. Astronaut Scott Kelly took this amazing shot while the plant grew near a window!

Arabidopsis thaliana was grown through a full life cycle including flowering at least as early as 2001.
I was happy about a flower grown in space then I started reading the pedantic commentary and realized I don’t give a f**k what you guys think. I am still glad for a flower from space.

Apparently flowers grown in space have to be captured. Probably shouldn’t release them on Earth.
Nice. It costs over seven million dollars a day for each person aboard ISS. But at least we get pictures of pretty flowers for all that money…
