Submission statement: A condition called Primary Aldosteronism (PA), which accounts for 1 in 20 cases of high blood pressure, and which has seen little progress for 30+ years, finally has a new treatment option in the pipeline. The treatment, called Targeted Thermal Therapy (TTT), uses short bursts of intense heat to destroy nodules on the adrenal glands that cause high blood pressure (which PA causes). In a trial, 3/4 of trial participants could either come off their medication, or reduce it’s use notably. This has implications for not just PA, but also for other conditions aswell, as this very well could be used in future for other conditions, which may have limited treatment options.

This sub in a nutshell: “This cutting edge discovery/research could create god, cake and ice cream for all…but it won’t and you’ll never hear about this again.”
