Unbelievably stupid. If NASA *had* to move its headquarters, it should go to Florida where the Kennedy Space Center is. Launch facilities have to be close to the equator anyway, so you might as well move the HQ there. Stupidly, the only reason NASA is spread out between DC, Texas, and Florida in the first place is to spread out the jobs to ensure more Congressional support for its programs, because “it’s a good idea” isn’t a good enough reason for Republicans. So people have to ship rocket parts across the country, and rocket launches in Florida are coordinated by technicians in Texas. HQ, the political and administrative heart of NASA, at least makes sense in DC. But no, move it to Ohio because it’s a swing state. That’s making government more “efficient” for you.
Gross. You can bet that creep JD Vance and the pervert Jim Jordan were pushing this.
It will cost millions and hurt the space program.

They should move the headquarters to New Mexico. There is a spaceport that was build but gets little use… just saying.

If they want to move it out of DC, I can see Cape Canaveral FL, Houston TX, or even Huntsville AL ahead of freaking Ohio.
They did this to the Department of Agriculture during Trump’s first term as a way of getting employees to quit. It’s a legal way to gut an agency.
So everyone who works at NASA DC is supposed to pack up their families and move to Ohio? Spouses and kids lives be damned. I swear these people in government are so detached from reality.
How does this statement align with “low value” Federal Employees, “…broader government efforts to decentralize federal agencies and reinvigorate parts of the country outside Washington.”
Move it to California, that way when the US splits up it will be in the part that still respects science
