New images show the [South Korean](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/south-korea/) army using [dog-like robots](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/06/19/gun-toting-robot-dogs-could-be-weapons-of-mass-destruction/) during military drills with the United States, as the allies train for a potential combat in North Korea’s extensive network of [fortified tunnels](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/03/13/nuclear-bunkers-take-centre-stage-latest-south-korean-war-games/).

This week roughly 370 troops from the two countries are taking part in a four-day exercise in Paju, close to the border with North Korea, to simulate an assault within [Kim Jong-un’s](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/03/08/north-korea-claims-building-first-nuclear-powered-submarine/) subterranean passageways – an activity considered more critical since the war in Gaza.

Don’t count on us military support though. Trump was just praising n Korea this week.
