Perspective can make any impossible task seem small and manageable
Very cool! Post this over on /r/SolarMax too
And keep in mind the sun is small in comparison to other stars out there 👀
I’m presuming this is linked to those crazy Aurora Borealis videos posted from Alaska lately?
Does anyone want to take a stab at describing what would happen is such a prominence were to strike the Earth? What are the densities, energies, and duration involved? Would it ‘just’ strip off the atmosphere or incinerate the planet? Mad respect for those who can apply hard science to these kind of ‘what if’ scenarios to bring science to life, like Randall Munroe and his xkcd comic
Space is big – Adams told us before:) and yes – space is unbelievable big
