The artist created this painting in 2023, and sent it to Zelensky, without even knowing if it would reach the destination or not:

    >I began working on this canvas after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and throughout the painting process, I wove all my anger and hatred into it. While painting, I kept thinking about where this canvas should end up—where the best place for it would be… I clearly felt that it shouldn’t just hang on an ordinary wall. It needed to go somewhere that this energy would be used, brought to life.

    >I turned on the video and what do I see… At the end of President Zelensky’s New Year’s address, my painting appears on the wall! The final shot focuses directly on it, accompanied by Zelensky’s closing words: “Those who set our country on fire will very soon see the same fire from their own windows.” Zelensky’s speech ends with a full-frame shot of my work. It’s unbelievable. I named this painting “Dream,” and I wish for that dream to come true—for Ukraine, for Georgia, and for everyone who cherishes freedom.
